Good morning!  Today’s post will link up to Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post,  and Book Journey, for  Weekly Updates.

**Mailbox Monday is now hosted at the home site:  Mailbox Monday.

Grab some coffee (or a pot of tea!), and let’s talk about our weeks.  My reading went pretty well, and I even did a little more organizing and purging. Yes, again!  Check it out.

It is raining today, after a week of lovely spring-like weather.  But the rain is a good thing.  And curling up to read is best in this kind of weather.

Today I finished reading a very riveting book…the fifth one of the week!  All of the books were awesome this week….and I had a great time watching TV and movies, too.

Crash and Burn (e-book), by Lisa Gardner

My name is Nicky Frank. Except, most likely, it isn’t.

Nicole Frank shouldn’t have been able to survive the car accident, much less crawl up the steep ravine. Not in the dark, not in the rain, not with her injuries. But one thought allows her to defy the odds and flag down help: Vero.

I’m looking for a little girl. I have to save her. Except, most likely, she doesn’t exist.

Sergeant Wyatt Foster is frustrated when even the search dogs can’t find any trace of the mysterious missing child. Until Nicky’s husband, Thomas, arrives with a host of shattering revelations: Nicole Frank suffers from a rare brain injury and the police shouldn’t trust anything she says.

My husband claims he’ll do anything to save me. Except, most likely, he can’t.

Who is Nicky Frank, and what happened the night her car sailed off the road? Was it a random accident or something more sinister given the woman’s lack of family and no close friends? The deeper Wyatt digs, the more concerned he becomes. Because it turns out, in the past few months, Nicky has suffered from more than one close accident. . . . In fact, it would appear someone very much wants her dead.

This is my life. Except, most likely, it’s not. Now watch me crash and burn.

Monday’s Lie (e-book), by Jamie Mason

Dee Aldrich rebelled against her off-center upbringing when she married the most conventional man she could imagine: Patrick, her college sweetheart. But now, years later, her marriage is falling apart and she’s starting to believe that her husband has his eye on a new life…a life without her, one way or another.

Haunted by memories of her late mother Annette, a former covert operations asset, Dee reaches back into her childhood to resurrect her mother’s lessons and the “spy games” they played together, in which Dee learned memory tricks and, most importantly, how and when to lie. But just as she begins determining the course of the future, she makes a discovery that will change her life: her mother left her a lot of money and her own husband seems to know more about it than Dee does. Now, before it’s too late, she must investigate her suspicions and untangle conspiracy from coincidence, using her mother’s advice to steer her through the blind spots. The trick, in the end, will be in deciding if a “normal life” is really what she wants at all.

When a baby goes missing on a lonely roadside in Australia, it sets off a police investigation that will become a media sensation and dinner-table talk across the world.

Lies, rumours and guilt snowball, causing the parents, Joanna and Alistair, to slowly turn against each other.

Finally Joanna starts thinking the unthinkable: could the truth be even more terrible than she suspected? And what will it take to make things right?

  1. I actually had a pretty good mailbox this past week. 🙂 My post will be up on Monday.

I love Diane Chamberlain…is that a new book?

Looks like you had a good week.

Spring weather and rain sound good to me. We still have cold temperatures and snow. It is to be in the 40’s tomorrow, though. HEAT WAVE. 🙂 Hopefully the mounds of snow will melt.

    ENJOY your week.

BTW, there is a Valentine’s Day giveaway on my blog. Chocolate is involved. 🙂 Stop by if you like.

  2. Curling up in an armchair beside a window, watching the rain fall and reading while seeping a cup of tea/coffee is the comfiest moment I can think of. I think that when you read One plus one, you’ll be crying a lot so it will be raining inside too ! Have a great week 🙂

  3. Five books!?! Woo hoo! Congratulations…I didn’t finish one this week. I’m hoping some of the books I’m waiting to come in from on hold arrive soon, like maybe today and I’ll be able to read at least one this week.

  4. I’m looking forward to trying JoJo Moyes and Dianne Chamberlain. Both authors sound fantastic. The Lauren Carr book sounds interesting as well. I envy you your 5 books this week! For some reason this wasn’t a good reading week for me. It felt like I was only getting little sips of the books I’m reading and I want to sit down and have a nice long read. Have a great week!

You bet rain is a good thing! Wonderful to have all great reads in the week, I hope for that as much as possible. Hope you enjoy One Plus One – I loved the audio of it. Haven’t read the Diane Chamberlain but one day no doubt.

    1. Oh, I know what you mean! I have a couple more of her books on Sparky…I try to plan them so I am not just reading them, one after the other, but the temptation is there. Enjoy, and thanks for visiting, Laura.

Awesome line-up of books. The Secret Life of CeeCee Wilkes is on my TBR stack, I do like Diane Chamberlain. Hope you love One Plus One as much as I did. I’m super curious about The Cry, how have I not read anything by this Australian author? Have a great week and happy reading 🙂

Nice book haul you got. Monday’s Lie looks pretty interesting. And Moyes is always a sure bet. Glad you got some rain in Calif. I was worried the state would burn up. I plan to pass up 50 Shades of Grey movie on Valentines wknd. LOL. Enjoy your week!

    1. Yes, it still might, as we don’t ever get enough. I didn’t read the 50 Shades of Grey books….and I don’t like the look of the girl playing the role in the movie…Yes, I know she’s Don Johnson and Melanie Griffiths’ little girl, but something about her is annoying…LOL. Thanks for stopping by, Susan.
