WEEKLY UPDATES: A LITTLE OF THIS, A LITTLE OF THAT….

Good morning!  Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is now hosted at the home site:  Mailbox Monday.

It was pretty hot this week, so I stayed inside with the air conditioning and read and reviewed five books!  I also did a little more purging and rearranging….I removed the little white shelf with trinkets, and shoved Fantasia Mickey Mouse over into the space.

  1. Oh, these all look good, Laurel! The two Netgalley books on my wishlist now and Daughters-in-law and The Liar too. I’m scribbling down all of your titles to check out further and put most on my wishlist. Enjoy your weekend and stay cool; we have had gloomy weather: overcast skies and light drizzles for about 5 days!

    1. Thanks, Rita, and I’m loving The Liar. NR has set this new book in the South…after a beginning in Philadelphia, the MC goes home to Tennessee. Her life is a mess and the down home coziness is just what she needs..

      Hope your weather brightens up!

  2. 5 books- nice! Sounds like a great week. We’re starting to warm up here too, the AC will be going on soon. 🙂 Finally feeling like summer.

Your review of Bittersweet makes me want t ogive it a try, I was curious about that one and looking forward to your thoughts. 5 stars, I may definitely have t ogive it a try now. The mystery appeals to me.

  3. I’ve got Little Black Lies to read down the track. It’s not out here for a while though so I’ve held off on reading it. I look forward to what you think of The Liar. I didn’t mind it but was a little disappointed.

  4. More cleaning out, such an inspiration – but I just need to start – anywhere would be good! I have just finished The Lake Season, have The Liar on audio and will listen to the Liane Moriarty on audio too. I have Daughters-in-Law on my actual TBR shelf and have it planned in to read later in the year for a challenge. Enjoy your reading – hope weather cools just a tad!

    1. Thanks, Kathryn….I think I have started becoming obsessive about the clearing out…LOL. But I do feel better afterwards.

I just finished The Liar and loved it; getting ready to start The Lake Season. Enjoy your week!

Speaking of rearranging…I started the international bestseller about tidying, but gave up after only a few chapters. The author recommends removing clutter. I like clutter. I like tidy, too, but don’t ask me to throw away all my things!

    Here’s my Sunday Salon.

    1. Oh, no, I would definitely not get rid of everything I love! My dining room still has a lot of knickknacks mixed in with my books in my country cupboards, which I love! Thanks, Deb….I will never be a minimalist.

  6. Today, I think, is when I will put in our air conditioner (we have a small house) so a room conditioner for our living room.

It looks a little less cluttered there now…good job. Keep up the good work. 🙂

  7. While you were inside with the air conditioning, we were bundling back up in sweaters! It dipped back down into the 30’s for the past couple of nights… glad I’m not out camping this holiday weekend!

Will look forward to your thoughts on The Hypnotist’s Love Story since I really liked Big Little Lies.

    1. Oh, sorry about your weather! We tend to have very long and hot summers that last from May until October…LOL.

I also loved Big Little Lies…and several other books by this author, so I am eager to dive in. Thanks for stopping by, JoAnn, and enjoy your weekend.

  8. Oh, I hop you’re enjoying The Liar! I’m on the hold list at the library. They’ve finally increased the number of copies to 45 (in a 6-branch system), so I might get it sometime next month, if I’m lucky. I’ve been on the hold list since before it came out – but I started at something like number 97!

  9. The Hypnotist’s Love Story was the first book I read by the author. I’ve got The Liar on audio, but I usually devour her books, so not sure I want to listen or read. Not need for AC here this weekend, boo. But it will be time soon enough. Have a great week.

The Hypnotist’s Love Story is the last book from Liane’s backlist I’m yet to read. Hope you enjoy it. Your re-arrangement looks good too. Have a great week and happy reading 🙂

    1. Me, too, Sam, and thanks for stopping by. I finished The Liar and started The Lake Season and it kept me engaged late into the night. I may need to take a nap today, as I didn’t sleep in. Enjoy your week.

    1. Thanks, Elizabeth….hope you enjoy all of your books, too. Anne Tyler’s books are kind of a meandering travel through the lives of the characters, and I was in the mood for it when I read this book. Enjoy your week.

  11. The Cue Card

The Hypnotist’s Love Story looks suspenseful. I need the lowdown on that one as I have not read Ms. Moriarity yet, though people love her books. SoCal was chilly for Memorial Day Wknd but we are back now. Hope you are staying cool in Central Cal.
