Oh nice, pool days! I remember At Risk from long ago — that was one of Hoffman’s earlier novels. It’s good, no magical realism in that one. Also the McKenzie “Smoke” novel looks ominous, does it not?! Fire is scary for Californians. Enjoy your week and books!

I got At Risk for a 1.99 special, and it was one I had missed. I don’t like too much magic realism. Thanks for visiting, Susan, and I love the idea of Smoke, despite how scary it is for us Californians.

I love the beach — except not in the summer. As a red-head, I can’t take the sun. So, I like to visit the beach in the seasons when walking around all covered up doesn’t look so strange.
The cover of The Rumor does scream “Beach Read”, doesn’t it?
