  2. Some great new books there! And a busy week for you. I’ve got Sue Grafton’s X in my TBR pile and hope to get to it soon!

    I read a Paula Daly novel last year and now am trying to remember what it was… must check out Goodreads as I didn’t know there was something new out.

    1. I’ve read and loved two Paula Daly books: Just What Kind of Mother Are You? and Keep Your Friends Close.

  3. Netflix is always good! Your reads look good, and I enjoyed seeing your pics. I know I’ve mentioned it before, but I love the Coke chairs (and memorabilia) and your office/ blogging space looks very cosy.

    1. Thanks, Greg. I plan to do some more bingeing on Netflix today, starting with a new show, whatever that might be.

      I bought the Coke stuff a few years ago, to decorate my guest house at my home in the foothills…it did look great, I thought.

      So when I sold the place and downsized, I decided they were the perfect fit for my condo. Have a great week!

  7. I have been eyeing I Never Asked for Wings for a month or so now and hope to read it maybe next month. It is close to home locale wise for me too and I am on a reading trip around the country right now, lol, and would prefer not to read about my home at the moment. But I think it sounds wonderful and will definitely pick it up when I can. Good review you posted of it this week.

    I enjoyed seeing your home transformation after the relatives left and you could go back to your office. As much as we love our family, isn’t it kinda nice when we get our own space back, and our quiet “me” times again? My son goes home this coming weekend and my daughter starts school again and I will enjoy a few hours here and there just for me. I need absolute quiet to read, and that hasn’t been easy lately.

    Broken Homes and Gardens is a totally new to me title and author and I’m excited to learn more about it, so hope you love it!

    1. Thanks, Rita, I did love Wings….and that exit to Coalinga and the Harris Ranch bit in the opening lines reminded me of coming to these parts so long ago.

      I do love reclaiming my space, but I am also changing things up for the next go-round.

      I have never read the author of Broken Homes and Gardens, but the book appeals to me.

  17. I added The Summer Girls on GR as it just sounds and looks like a fun summer read. And I’m trying to cram in as many of those as I can before we have to say goodbye to summer 15! I also want to check out The Race for Paris now as I seem to be reading a tonne of Paris books this year and really enjoying it.

    1. Yes, that caught my attention, too, Lucy; When Harry Met Sally is one of my favorite movies for all time…I have probably watched my DVD twenty times or more and know most of the dialogue…LOL. Thanks for stopping by.

      And I love binge watching on Lifetime, too; and Hallmark, in the past couple of weeks, since it was just added to our lineup.

  21. Oooh, mimosas sound good. My mom has been purging her house and dropping off things at mine! I did actually clear out most of my stuff when I moved out, so most of what’s showing up on my doorstep belongs to my sister. Oh well. Luckily I’ve gotten her over pretty quickly to pick it up so it’s not cluttering up my house. I did acquire a box full of books from our childhood last week though. It was nice to look through them with her and relive some memories. Enjoy your week!

    1. Ha-ha…I finally got my daughter to come pick up her stuff that had been in my garage for years….and then gave her five bookshelves that I had emptied. She doesn’t read….so I was curious about what she would do. She uses one of them for kitchen spices and pretty bowls in the dining area.

      I would love to see some of my childhood books, but my sister absconded with them several years ago…and she’s still denying it. LOL.
