WEEKLY UPDATES: READING, BLOGGING, & DECADENCE

Good morning!  Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site:  Mailbox Monday.

And, in anticipation of Sheila’s return to lead us in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, check out Book Journey.

My reading has improved, even though I am easily distracted by purging, blog deleting, and rearranging of furniture.  So far this month, I have read and reviewed 13 books, an improvement over last month’s 10.

To celebrate a productive week, I had lunch at the Elephant Bar today…I am stuffed!  Creamy mac and cheese, a Caesar salad, and a Martini.

  1. I want that mac n cheese … and the martini doesn’t look half bad either! All your reads this week look nice- I especially like the cover of The Good Neighbor. Something about the green door… 🙂

I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, and good luck with the blog purging/ consolidating.

  2. Oh so yummy! Specially the dessert! Hope you enjoy The In Between Hour, I liked it when I read it. I picked up The Good Neighbor too at NetGalley, will be interesting to see what it is like.

    1. I am definitely looking forward to The Good Neighbor and The In Between Hour…and the dessert was definitely delicious…and I couldn’t eat another bite all day. No dinner, even. LOL

Thanks for stopping by, Kathryn, and enjoy your week.

  3. Sounds like you’ve had a productive week, Laurel-Rain! I think purging is good! I need to find the time to empty our basement where we store ‘stuff’ because I’m quite sure a lot of the things hiding in there could rather be at someone else’s house. It’s really hard to find the motivation to start doing it, though, so kudos to you for continuing to purge and make your house more manageable.
Your new books look really good, especially The Good Neighbor. I hope you’ll enjoy them all.
Have a fantastic week ahead and happy reading 🙂

    1. Thanks, Lexxie, and it’s not as though I am planning to move anytime soon, but when/if I do, I want the job to be easier than my last one…

I am actually glad that I don’t have all the hidden storage places (attics or basements) like I did in my last home.

I am eager to read The Good Neighbor.

MMMM Mac and Cheese. And strawberry shortcake! As much as I have drunk, I have never had a martini. The covers of all those books are lovely!

    1. Thanks, Steph….and martinis are my favorite drinks…except in the mornings, when I want a mimosa or a Bloody Mary…LOL.

Thanks for stopping by, and The Elephant Bar does a delicious Mac and Cheese.

    1. I am enjoying Before the Storm so far…I haven’t found a book by this author that I haven’t liked. Looking forward to her newest, Pretending to Dance, which is patiently waiting on my Kindle…until closer to the release date. Thanks for stopping by, Yvonne, and have a great week.

  6. All that food is making me hungry even though I just ate breakfast. I read your review for the Blume book, and totally agree with your points. I want to read the Good Neighbor and the Accident Season. I am hearing good things about both. I hear ya as far as the reading goes, August was one of my lowest reading and reviewing months in a long time. I Think I read only ten books.

    1. Oh, it would be impossible to choose between them, Katherine, so I had to have both!

I’ve been adding some books, too, but since they usually end up on Pippa, it feels almost guilt-free…out of sight and all. Thanks for stopping by!

Oh my, that strawberry shortcake dessert has my mouth watering! I’ve got The Hurricane Sisters, The In-Between Hour and Before the Storm waiting patiently for me, maybe one of your reviews will inspire me to move them to the top of the read pile …
Have a wonderful week, happy reading and thanks for visiting me 🙂
