It is beautiful outside, with cooler temperatures promising that soon it will feel exactly like autumn. But meanwhile, I’ve been enjoying my reading…and on Thursday, my beautiful granddaughter Fiona helped me totally rearrange my office. The sofa bed went on the wall next to the door, so the length of the room stretches out just right for when it becomes a guest room. My bigger bookshelf went on the wall with my Nook…which is now my work station!
It was exhausting, but such a productive afternoon…and Fiona is awesome!

I like Lisa Scottoline and didn’t know she had a new book out. I must try to find it. I’m actually reading The Lake House at the moment and enjoying it – but I enjoy all of Morton’s books!

And yay for cooler temps- we’ve really cooled off too, I like it but at the same time it’s been a little TOO cool at night. 🙂 Oh well can’t have it all, I guess…

Yummy to that cake and coffee. Wonderful to have a grand daughter like Fiona, and great work with the rearranging. I agree, we can set a plan for our reading but change it out as the whim goes. If we can’t go by whim at our age well then its a crying shame! Hope you enjoy your reads this week.

Kate Morton tends to write her books Long but they are very readable. Always about Secrets! I’ll be interested to hear if it’s any good, as well as the Cold War novel A Place We Knew Well. I’m wondering if that’s worth reading. Meanwhile I’ve been visiting SoCal this week and it’s been very hot! 105 is a bit hot for October, wouldn’t you say? Ouch.

Oh, yes, the restaurants came first, then the frozen food…LOL. Probably not in all states…just like Cracker Barrel restaurants are in the Southwest, but not here in California. (I thought they were just cheese!).

I understand about impulsiveness. I had a great plan to read one book for the Diversiverse event and then I read (then reviewed) another one for the event. It was just sooooo good that I couldn’t pass it up.

That coffee cake looks heavenly and I’m suddenly starving! Your office/guest room looks great and I love the idea of using a sleeper sofa to turn it into an a guest room when need be. I’m looking forward to your review of the Kate Morton book. Have a great week!

Thanks, Katherine, it was yummy! As for the guest room, when I had the sofa bed on the horizontal wall (I don’t know why I put it there!), there wasn’t any room to walk around the bed when it was open. Now, the new lengthy way will be better….great that I did this, now that my guests are gone! LOL.
But they will be back…hopefully, and other guests, too. I am enjoying The Lake House…I think I will be enjoying it for a couple of days, as it has over 500 pages.

We have Marie Callender’s in town now that I live in your state, and we had Cracker Barrel everywhere in FL– my Mom loved to browse their gift shop while waiting for a table when she visited us. And… we are getting something kind of near to us soon, that we miss from our Northeast days… a Dunkin Donuts, yay! I love their coffee 🙂

Me, too, Bea (about the flu shot); I have been getting one every year for a few years…but I almost let it slip by this year, with all the excitement of guests, etc.
I love Scottoline and I’m enjoying the Morton book. And yes, I do rearrange my stuff a lot. I get bored and want a “new” look, and sometimes the new arrangement is just what the room needs.
I knew one person who rearranged more than I do…and maybe that’s where I first got the habit. My ex-husband would rearrange while I was at work!

I like the new furniture changes that you’ve made, but was it really cool enough for Fiona to wear a scarf and jacket, or is she just being trendy (like my daughter does at times)? We’ve been having an unseasonable heat-wave here, ugh.
