Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s welcome Kathryn, our new leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at The Book Date.
***
My week was spent mostly reading ONE book, although I then went on to finish another. The book I spent so much time on was more than 500 pages and awesome, but I was distracted by other things. Like prepping for carpet cleaning next week. Who knew prepping could be so time-consuming? Here is the preliminary Graveyard of my Stuff in the garage (below)….there will be more.
I also caught up on some TV shows returning from hiatus: The Leftovers, The Affair, and How to Get Away with Murder. (Did anyone read Tom Perrotta’s book The Leftovers?) I loved it!
It rained this week, and while I usually love reading in the rain, I was annoyed…because of the thunder. I was worried about a power outage. But it didn’t happen! Yay!

I love a good thunderstorm, but yes- only if the power stays on! We had a blackout last week, the whole block went out, but luckily it only lasted a few hours. Truth Be Told and Girl With No PAst both look good, I’ve been especially curious about Girl since I keep seeing it around.
Hope youe teeth feel better soon, there’s nothing I hate more than dental pain! Hope you have a very nice week (and good weather).

Thanks for visiting, Greg, and I am definitely going to enjoy those books. As for my teeth, I have a temporary crown and will get the permanent one in a week.
So far, the weekend has been great…Immersed myself in Netflix and an Amazon Video called Barefoot.

I had a similar experience last week Laurel and spent most of the first part of the week on one book – a biggie and it was nice not to rush through it.

I liked not having to rush, too, Deborah…it reminds me of the old days before blogging…LOL. Thanks for stopping by.

Thanks for the welcome in Laurel-Rain. A more than 500 pages book can throw a spanner in the works for reading a # of books in the week. However slowing down and really giving the attention to the book is important. I often tell myself to slow down and just appreciate it. Not signing up for so many challenges next year so hopefully slow me down a bit.
I have Smoke to read too, I think on NetGalley I just clicked a wish button and I got my wish. Who knew!

Thanks for stopping by, Kathryn, and what fun you will have leading the Monday event!
I have been a Catherine McKenzie fan for a while…and Smoke looks very good to me. As for The Lake House, I am delighted that the lengthy book turned out to be so engaging. It was my first time reading this author.
Enjoy your week…and all your Monday visitors!

Oh, Truth Be Told is out! I need to add my name to the wait list at the library. Is your graveyard pile things you are getting rid of? You do a lot of rearranging and purgin . 🙂
Have a great week!

Thanks for stopping by, Bea, and no…that pile is stuff that I’ve removed for the carpet cleaning. I might not bring them all back in afterwards, though. Haven’t decided! I know I’ll get rid of some of those magazines, however…even though I recycle them regularly, I seem to keep a lot. I don’t know why. LOL

Thanks, Kimberly, and now I know why I don’t have carpets cleaned very often! Last time, my youngest son did it and it took all day. He’s thorough. He also grumbled a lot. LOL
My review of the long book (The Lake House) is on An Interior Journey.

Thanks for linking up my post! And a 500 page does take a long time to read. I used to love big books but nowadays unless I absolutely love the book, I’d prefer if they were shorter than that. Hope you enjoy your new books, I like the look of The Girl with No Past.

I love reading on rainy days but I don’t like the thunder and lightning. As soon as I hear and see that I gather our flashlights just to be safe. I was just thinking of cleaning our carpet and it does take a lot of moving furniture. But it is nice to see a clean carpet again. I hope you get to relax once the cleaning is done! Have a great week!

The Girl With No Past is popular this week … looking forward to your thoughts. I’ve also got Who Do You Love on my TBR mountain.
I keep putting off replacing the main bedroom carpet, it’s the only carpet I have in the house and it’s been down for 15 years and seen better days but it means clearing everything out, and just moving my books will be a nightmare. I need to just suck it up and get on with it lol.
Off to check out your review of The Lake House, I loved it. Have a great week and happy reading 🙂

I have been noticing The Girl with No Past everywhere, and I couldn’t resist.
I hate the clearing out of things in order to get a new carpet. Since mine is just cleaning, I am only moving the smaller things. They will have to clean around the big stuff. Underneath the big stuff there won’t be any stains anyway…LOL.
Usually what I’ve done in the past when I don’t like the condition of the house…I just move! Don’t really think that’s a good option anymore.
