And let’s join Kathryn, our new leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at The Book Date.

What a busy week I had…household chores, carpet cleaning, and putting everything right again.  But now I am ready for the upcoming holidays.

Sunday is my birthday, and my daughter is bringing family together for a birthday brunch.  Perhaps a mimosa or two?

  1. Happy birthday! Hope it’s a great one spent with family. And good drinks too. 🙂 Maybe in Another Life caught my eye somewhere and I think I’m going to read that one next or maybe soon. I like the parallel path angle of it.

Looks like some good suspenseful reads too. Happy Sunday!

  2. Cop Town looks good. So nice your house is clean and ready for the holidays. We have family coming in November and I need to do a deep cleaning in preparation. Having so many living here makes it hard. Enjoy the celebration today.

Have a fantabulous birthday … brunch, mimosa and family time sounds perfect. Just checked A Place We Knew Well on Goodreads, I haven’t read anything set around the time of the Cuban Missile Crisis, curious now. Have a great week and enjoy your reads!

    1. Thanks, Teddyree…I won’t be getting much reading done today, though. I barely started A Place We Knew Well…and so far, it isn’t knocking my socks off…but I’m going to give it time. Enjoy your week!

Happy Birthday!! I hope you had a nice luncheon with your family and enjoyed a glass (or 2) of Mimosas. I love those Disney decorations. I have a collection of Disney snow globes that I love. I hope you enjoy all those books you plan to read and have a great week!

  5. Oh the carpets must be so gorgeous now, I love it when a carpet has been clean, feels so newish. I enjoyed Smoke and I have The Things We Keep to read as well. Have a very happy birthday on Sunday with plenty of mimosas! I know they are a drink but not quite sure what the make up is!

    1. Thanks, Kathryn, and they look good and feel plush beneath my bare feet! If only I can keep them that way…LOL. I am looking forward to The Things We Keep….and a mimosa is champagne and orange juice.

Easy to make and goes down smoothly…almost too smoothly. Enjoy your week!

What a nice assortment of books. You always find such interesting looking ones at Vine. I hope your celebration was great! Happy birthday!

  7. I’ll be interested to see what you think of A Place We Knew Well…I read it a few weeks ago and it wasn’t a favorite. I thought I’d love it based on the premise, but something intangible was just missing 😦 I hope it works better for you!

Happy Belated Birthday Laurel! Sorry I missed it (online) but I hope you had a pink Cosmo to celebrate. I like the looks of the All the Houses novel. I used to live in D.C. so any book set there and with the politics and all — it could be just the right book for me. Thanks! Enjoy your week.

    1. I didn’t have a Cosmo…but I had a few mimosas…LOL. Tomorrow I’m having a birthday lunch and will have some kind of martini.

Thanks for stopping by, Susan, and I am looking forward to All the Houses, too.
