Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our new leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at The Book Date.

It has been a great month!  This week was a little slower than my previous one, since I spent way too much time on one book.  I kept picking it up, reading a bit, and then setting it down again.  It was not a favorite!

Today I celebrated the end of the month with a delicious lunch at the neighborhood Mimi’s:  French Onion soup, a spinach salad, and strawberries.  And a martini!

  1. I like how you celebrate the weekend! 🙂 I see you’re reading Maybe in another Life- I just bought that one and am keen to read it, so I hope you’re enjoying it. And I’m glad to see The Deep End making its way around. I thought that was good too, and hope you like it.

Love french onion soup. 🙂 Have a nice week…

    1. Thanks, Greg, and seeing The Deep End, as well as the second book, on your blog, made me want to read them both.

I am just beginning Maybe in Another Life, but I have a feeling it will be a good one. Thanks for stopping by.

It’s a good week-end celebration 😉 And that meal looks absolutely delicious ! I know Greg liked The deep end, I almost bought it myself before I remembered all those books I already have to read… Have a great week-end 😉

  4. Laurel… not many things can beat French Onion soup, a spinach salad, and strawberries…. and a martini! good for you. 🙂 Thanks for featuring Trish’s post “Random Ways to Choose Your Next Book” I’ll check it out. It may be what I need since I haven’t been able to finish a book in more than two moths 😦

  5. The French Onion Soup and spinach salad sound and look fantastic! I haven’t had a good French Onion Soup in far too long. You got some lovely books this week! I really loved Mulhern’s 2nd mystery and want to go back and get The Deep End. It looks really great! Have a fantastic week and I’ll take a martini or two!

    1. I usually have the Corn Chowder there, but I’m glad I got the French Onion soup…it was delicious…and so was the salad.

Thanks for stopping by, Katherine, and I’m looking forward to The Deep End…and the second book.

  6. All of those books look so good! The Deep End was really good.

I love French Onion soup but haven’t had it in awhile.

In answer to your question on my blog…it’s now November sweeps, so I think we are finally going to get the big Jason reveal. Or at least I hope so!

    Have a great week!

I love Mimi’s but I haven’t been there in a long time. That soup and salad look delicious!! I love how you celebrate and I need to do this too! You have a lot of great new books and I hope you enjoy them. Have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Nise, and I can’t believe it’s November, either…of course, that means that there will be nothing but Christmas in the stores. I feel like Thanksgiving gets slighted…

The martini…and the lunch, too, were all good. A nice break. Can’t wait to read the Trigiani book and The Admissions. Enjoy your week!

  9. I’m not a big fan of salads, but my favorite is spinach and strawberries with almond slivers, feta cheese, and balsamic vinegar as the dressing. Your picture made me hungry for it! I’ve been struggling a bit with In the Woods. I feel like I keep reading and reading but I’m not making much headway. Enjoy your week!

    1. I do love those items in a salad…and mine also had mushrooms. Feta cheese is my preferred cheese, as well as balsamic vinegar as the dressing. I’m getting hungry all over again! LOL.

I have In the Woods on Pippa and I don’t know why I’m putting it off…but if you’re struggling, I may wait a while longer! Thanks for visiting, Jen.

  10. As always you have a great list of ‘finished’ and ‘up next’ reads. My reading time is limited lately. Thanks for the intros. I really want to read All the Stars in the Heavens, and like the looks of The Three Story House and The Shadow Year. Have a great week!

  11. You always have the most appealing food pictures. I can’t believe October is over, and now it is feeling like they are shoving the holidays down my throat. Seriously I hate it!

    1. Thanks, Heidi, ever since I got my iPhone (Phoebe), I have snapped photos of food in restaurants. I thought I was the only one, but when my house guests (Son and DIL) were here, my DIL was always snapping photos of the food, too.

I hate it when they start the holiday commercialism so early!

Nice looking books in your mailbox this week. It has been so long since I’ve chosen anything from Amazon Vine. I miss their reminder emails. Thanks for visiting my blogs. Happy reading!

  13. That Martini looks good!

I’ve seen The Admissions around and I’m so curious about it. It sounds like it could be good, but I like the cover. And I didn’t know Adriana Trigiani had a new book coming! I’ve really enjoyed what I read of hers and I love books set in the ’30s, so I’ll have to look for this one. Happy reading!

Much appreciated 🙂 Hope you are loving Maybe in Another Life as much as I did and I look forward to reading your review no matter what feel about it. All the stars in the heavens looks interesting and this is an author that I’ve heard a lot of good things about but haven’t tried yet. Have a good week!
