Happy Easter, for those who celebrate it. I am pleased with the sunshine I see around me, although there is a hint of rain to come in the next week. What a week this has been, struggling still with the new meds after three weeks…and finally, a discussion and a decision: back to the old meds! Such a relief.
One event this past week was so much fun for me: A Day in the Life, (click for my post), hosted by Trish, at Love, Laughter, & a Touch of Insanity. (Love that title!).
I also managed to read and review four books, and participate in Bloggiesta events. (Click to read about what I accomplished). For my Read the Books You Buy Challenge, I have now read and reviewed 23 books!
I did not binge-watch quite as much on Netflix, but did enjoy watching some more episodes of Broadchurch.

My goodness, so many good books! I enjoyed reading your Day in the Life as well as everyone else’s posts. So much fun– I’ll remember to do it next year also and see how things have changed up for me then.
Are you on season one or two of Broadchurch? I watched all of season one and was waiting for the second, but of course I forget to write shows down and unless you remember what you’re looking for, the search on Netflix doesn’t help much.
I loved your review for Brooklyn! I was born in Brooklyn so this would be a good read for me. I had bought the paperback of it that released originally, not the movie-tie-in, and the print was so small that I gave it to my SIL who enjoyed it. I think I’ll get it on my Kindle so I can make the font bigger.
I read the original Must Love Dogs and several others by Claire Cook. She’s a fun author– I liked her story about the mother and daughter going to college together… because a few years ago my younger daughter, son and I all attended the same community college at the same time. It was literally 3 minutes from our old home 🙂 Was an experience I will always treasure!

Thanks, Rita, and I just finished Season I of Broadchurch. I keep track by adding movies/shows to my queue on Netflix, so it’s easy to find them again; on my player, it asks me if I want to continue watching whatever I was on last.
Of course, I also write down the seasons and the episodes, so I have lots of notepaper stuffed into little mugs on my coffee table. OCD much?
I loved both the book and the movie Must Love Dogs…with Diane Lane in the movie.
Loved Brooklyn, both the book and the movie.

You’re doing so well with the read the books you own challenge, well done! I think once i’m a bit more caught up with review books (I got very behind when I hit a reading slump earlier this year) then I probably need a challenge like this.
Garden Spells is one of my favourite books, it’s gorgeous. I love Sarah Addison Allen, she can do no wrong in my eyes! 🙂

Thanks, Hayley…I am looking forward to Garden Spells. I’ve had it on my Kindle since January 2015, so it won’t count for this challenge (nothing before June 2015); in fact, all the books I’ve listed to read this week won’t count. But I still love clearing them off my Kindle.

Happy Easter! This weekend crept up on me, I didn’t even think of Easter as I was putting my Sunday Post together. Time is getting away from me lately… ha ha. Anyway glad you had some sun. It was nice to see your Day in the Life post- I’ll have to do that one next year, it looks fun.
Duplicate Keys sounds good- nice review of that. I’m curious about the 80’s setting and the fact that they were so free and easy w/ their keys- sounds like a bad idea. 🙂

Oh, I know, I was also very frustrated with the casual way the characters in Duplicate Keys handled their lives. But I do recall from the 60s and 70s that many people I knew were very “laidback.” I know that wouldn’t work for me, and I don’t think I was ever that casual about safety.

Always nice to have choices, Virgin River and Garden Spells are both light and very enjoyable reads. I have never read a book by Elizabeth Strout but feel I should!

I am definitely relieved to be off those awful meds…it feels as though a weight has lifted, and certainly the pain has gone.

Garden Spells has been tempting me lately. I’ve wanted to read it for awhile and I loved the one book by Sarah Addison Allen that I did read and now I’m coming across it here. The Nest looks good too and I want to try more by Sophie Hannah. I watched the first few episodes of Broadchurch and it was sooo good but it was almost too well done for me. They tackle such tough issues. Have a great week!

I finished Broadchurch…watched all 8 episodes of the final Season (II), and now I want more. But every show ends. Unless there is another season coming. I can’t wait for more seasons for some of my other favorites.

Oh, so much better, Nise….the past two days have felt pretty normal…almost, but no pain or other tricky effects.
I don’t trust doctors, since every new drug has tons of side effects, and they don’t even seem to give them a second thought.

I have felt much better the last few days, Wendy…I’m so relieved! And my sinuses are acting up, too…the pollen, etc.
I haven’t even been outside today…I like a Monday nesting on the couch. LOL. But it wasn’t raining when I peeked outside when I first woke up.
