After a week of perfect spring weather, all sunshine and blooms, I woke up to a rainy day! But I was planning to stay home and read, anyway, so it works for me.
Last night I started one of my week’s stack of reads…a book that has been languishing on Pippa since September 2014. Yes, imagine that!
Dream of the Blue Room, by Michelle Richmond, is one I featured yesterday on my Bookish Fridays post.
I started it last night, and plan to keep reading today. Lyrical prose that is as dreamy as the title, we are also brought into some very real moments.
I read and loved The Year of Fog by this author…but I read it in my pre-blogging life…(was there life before blogging?), so I don’t have a review of it. I just remember loving it.

If I finish my chosen book today, I will probably start reading North of Here, by Laurel Saville, which fascinates me because I know nothing about it…but I love the cover! LOL I did read a memoir by the author, though, Unraveling Anne, about her mother. Haunting story. Click title for my review.

A rainy day, which occurs a lot in Scotland, would ideally involve snuggling with a blanket with the dog reading whilst the husband and kids behave themselves. Maybe I should say my dream day!

I too read The Year of Fog and enjoyed it very much. I don’t think I have ever reread a book, and this one was donated to our library. I guess I could check it out if I wanted to reread. Thanks for sharing all your other titles too.

Yes, going to the library to get books for reread…something I might have to do, as I inadvertently gave away my “fog” book….I can’t find it, anyway! How did that happen?
When I purge, I am sometimes ruthless, but I think I kept most of my old favorites.

First, I love the mug in your photo! Haven’t read anything by Michelle Richmond, but you have certainly made me curious. Rainy days can be a treat if they fall on a day I have nothing scheduled… it’s the perfect excuse to just stay in and read all day. Enjoy 🙂

Thanks, JoAnn…I got the mug at Barnes & Noble a few years ago…and recently rediscovered it hidden behind some other mugs in the cupboard!
I am glad to have rediscovered Richmond…although I couldn’t find my copy of Year of the Fog…I suspect it slipped out during my purges. Careless purges!
