Today I’m participating in Sam’s WWW Wednesdays. Here’s how it works:
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next, and/or what are you eagerly awaiting?
***
Currently Reading:
I am totally engrossed in The Other Widow, by Susan Crawford, a book that explores the dark side of love, marriage, and infidelity in this sizzling novel of psychological suspense.
Everybody’s luck runs out. This time it could be theirs . . .
It isn’t safe. That’s what Joe tells her when he ends their affair—moments before their car skids off an icy road in a blinding snowstorm and hits a tree. Desperate to keep her life intact—her job, her husband, and her precious daughter, Lily—Dorrie will do everything she can to protect herself, even if it means walking away from the wreckage.
***
Alternating narrators tell this story that I cannot seem to put down!
***
JUST FINISHED:
A riveting page-turner, The Woman in Cabin 10, by Ruth Ware (click title for my review), the somewhat unreliable narrator kept me glued to the pages.
***
EAGERLY ANTICIPATING:
Having read and loved The Girl on the Train, I was eager to add Into the Water, by Paula Hawkins, to my list. It will be released on May 2, 2017.
A single mother turns up dead at the bottom of the river that runs through town. Earlier in the summer, a vulnerable teenage girl met the same fate. They are not the first women lost to these dark waters, but their deaths disturb the river and its history, dredging up secrets long submerged.
Left behind is a lonely fifteen-year-old girl. Parentless and friendless, she now finds herself in the care of her mother’s sister, a fearful stranger who has been dragged back to the place she deliberately ran from—a place to which she vowed she’d never return.
With the same propulsive writing and acute understanding of human instincts that captivated millions of readers around the world in her explosive debut thriller, The Girl on the Train, Paula Hawkins delivers an urgent, twisting, deeply satisfying read that hinges on the deceptiveness of emotion and memory, as well as the devastating ways that the past can reach a long arm into the present.
Beware a calm surface—you never know what lies beneath.

What are you reading this week? Come on by and share!

Ooh I’m eagerly anticipating the next book from Paula Hawkins too – also interested in The Other Widow, that looks like one I’d enjoy. Thanks for visiting my Wednesday post Laurel

Loving The Other Widow….I’m not quite sure where it’s going, at this point, but I’m enjoying the ride.

I enjoyed Susan Crawford’s The Pocket Wife, so discovering The Other Widow was a win for me. And The Woman in Cabin 10 was riveting…a thrill ride, IMO. There were plenty of confusing, twisty elements. Thanks for visiting, Clare.

Paula Hawkins is the author of Girl on the Train, right? I still have to get around to that one! I hope The Other Widow continues to impress!

The Girl on the Train was a little disappointing for me but I’ll probably read Paula Hawkins’ next book, Into the Water! And I have a copy of The Woman in Cabin 10 but haven’t had the chance to read it. I have read mixed reviews about it but I’m intrigued so maybe I’ll move it higher on my trb list just so I can get around it.

Oh, yes, lots of pressure…but I think the sound of the new one is so awesome, Brandie, and not like The Girl with the Train…so they won’t be compared in the same way, hopefully. Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for stopping by, Faith, and I’ve noticed that people either loved TGOTT or they were not impressed that much. I was one who loved it, but then, I find I enjoy a book more if I don’t have high expectations.

Loving the sounds of ‘The Woman in Cabin 10’! It’s been a while since I’ve read a good thriller, so I will definitely be adding it to my ‘To Be Read’ list 🙂 I really enjoyed your review! I think it’s awesome that emails and news accounts play a part in the narration. I think it’s a great way to show events from a different perspective!
