WEEKLY UPDATES: BACK FROM THE SHORE….

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

An hour ago, I just walked in from the beach getaway.  We headed down on Friday afternoon, and came back home on Sunday.  Friday’s drive was exhausting.  There was a two-hour traffic jam due to a horrible accident with two cars crushed and a truck on its side.  We were so grateful to arrive in Cayucos without any mishap.

Saturday was a gorgeous day for the wedding.  Sunshine and only a slight breeze.  Check out the bride and groom.  The guests on chairs (to the right) are not visible in this photo.

That’s my rather rushed week….and now I’m off to the reception.  Yesterday, I had this seafood lunch after the wedding (fish and chips).  The bride, across the table from me, appears to be studying her husband’s lunch.

How fun Laurel. So glad the wedding sounds a smash, and it’s a lovely day. Wonderful. I will see what you think of the Attenberg book; it could be a hit or miss. I’m curious about the Woman #17 novel. Enjoy your time! Have you been dancing yet?

    1. Thanks, Susan, and no dancing for me tonight…or last night, either. I was just happy to chat with old friends and some new ones. Enjoy your week, and I hope I like the Attenberg book…there are mixed reviews.

    1. Thanks, Elizabeth, and I had a delightful weekend, with just enough partying and the right amount of relaxation, too.

I enjoyed Behind Closed Doors, but it was pretty scary, too, with all the violence and secrets. Hope to love The Breakdown…I’ve been wanting it ever since I first heard of it, so I was happy to get it from NetGalley.

Ooh looks like a nice view- and as awesome beach wedding. Glad you had a nice trip (minus the traffic of course). Hope the rest of your weekend is nice and relaxing.

  3. Great wedding location, and a nice reading spot too!
So many of these books interest or intrigue me too. I’m curious about The Arrangement, and for sure I want to read The Breakdown since the author’s previous book was such a gripping read.
    Happy reading!

    1. Thanks, Kathy, it was a perfect reading spot. I prefer sitting somewhere near the beach without actually sitting on the sand…LOL.

I am very excited about The Breakdown, too. Thanks for stopping by.

Great spot for a wedding. I’m envying the sunshine too as we are locked in gloom and fog today. I really need to look at Amazon Vine again. I keep forgetting about it. Come see my week here. Happy reading!

    1. Thanks, Kathy, and I’ve discovered more really great books on Vine lately. I sometimes forget about it, too, but then someone told me that they lifted those deadlines, so I had four of them at one time. I read three of them this week.

  5. I love a beach wedding – glad the weather cooperated. Looks like everyone had a lovely time. Now you can get back to your ‘normal’. Have a good week and enjoy your new books!

  6. What a fun spot for a wedding. I love how the bride showed off her ink. Your fish and chips lunch looks delicious.I’m glad Cleo Coyle is a favorite of yours. I’ve read cozies where there’s superficial reference to its theme; w/this Coffeehouse series, that is not an issue. I’m already halfway through book two’s audiobook. I like it.

Your photos from the wedding (here and on FB) are just gorgeous, Laurel-Rain. A beautiful day for a lovely wedding. I was sorry to hear about the accident though that caused the traffic back up. How horrible for the people involved!

The Heather Gudenkauf’s book sounds really good as does The Break Down. I hope you enjoy your new books! Enjoy your week as well!

    1. Thanks, Wendy, and while we were happy with the wedding, the traffic accident did add a sad note to the festivities.

I am looking forward to The Breakdown and Not a Sound…both of them have been on my wish list for a while. Thanks for visiting.

  8. Glad you were safe and enjoyed your weekend. Love the bare feet on the happy couple and the minister/officiant. 🙂 My daughter was married on the beach and I had forgotten that detail.
You always stay so busy… and good reading too. You got some nice new books. Happy Reading!

  9. Great books as always this week Laurel.

I’m going to check out your review of the Susie Steiner book, I read her previous one recently.

I received a copy of the Breakdown last week, I can’t wait to get into it after Behind Closed Doors, I wonder what B.A. Paris has in store for the reader this time!

Have a great week and thanks for stopping by my blog earlier too 🙂
