Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.
**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.
And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.
Triple digits are predicted for this weekend and beyond! I knew it was coming…but I was still clinging to the past week with the 80s days. Sigh.
It has still been a pretty good week, with THREE books read and reviewed. My Read the Books You Buy Challenge total: 49 books. Two of my books this week were review books. I am enjoying hanging out in my office today, with books and the TV playing in the background. Breakfast (nothing fancy: toaster waffles) and an Aurora Teagarten Mystery Marathon.

***
Triple digits- yikes. Not my thing. I was complaining about the 90’s the past few days lol. It got a little muggy here but then we do get humidity in summer. You look all set up there at your breakfast table. 🙂
Stillhouse Lake looks so mysterious, I LOVE that cover. The blurb sounds good but franlty I’d want to read it just for the cover, you know? Hope it’s good. And hope your weekend is too! Nice pics.

Thanks, Greg, and I think the humidity probably makes the heat much worse. Our heat is pretty dry. Thankfully.
I passed over Stillhouse Lake the first time I saw the book…and then circled back to it. I hope to enjoy it. Have a great week!

I snagged Stillhouse Lake with Prime too, but then saw I could preorder audio for an additional 3.49..LOL Love your desk all lined up. I love to eat those waffles toasted plain. (I am weird)

Thanks, Kimberly, and I love waffles, but don’t have a waffle iron, so I get the frozen ones. I actually love them with strawberries and whipped cream. I should have done that! LOL.
Enjoy your week!

I like my waffles plain too. But when eating them at a restaurant I drown them in butter and syrup. LOL It was super hot here and so muggy. Feels more like August! And we had a huge wind storm blow through late last night. Thought I was going to end up in OZ!

I hate wind storms! Especially since the ones we had this year destroyed a few things (skylight cover, patio table umbrella).
Enjoy your week!

Happy Sunday! Ya, we’ve been feeling the heat here as well. We aren’t quite in the 100s yet, but we got very close this week. We will most likely be joining you next week. Have a good week, and enjoy your reads! 🙂

Thanks, Anna, and I guess I’m used to the triple digits in summer…it just took longer to get there this year, so we were lulled into a false sense of cooler days….LOL.

Love the upturned book and the reading accomplished. I don’t eat waffles but I should – I remember once eating the most delicious ones in Singapore and being in seventh heaven doing so.

Your cover on the Ephron book creeped me out, but luckily The Summer House is refreshing and pretty to look at 🙂 Bad Housekeeping looks like a fun read.
I thought Lisa Unger had a new book out so I impulsively checked, but I think you have a typo up there– it’s not her, it’s Kubica who has the Every Last Lie title, and I do want to read that, and enjoyed your review.
Stay cool– enjoy your week reading and blogging!

Wow, thanks for catching that, Rita! Definitely Mary Kubica, and The Red Hunter is Lisa Unger’s.
Hallie Ephron is one of my favorite authors, and the cover (and story) are pretty creepy/good..
Have a great week, and hopefully you will be done packing soon. Thanks for visiting.

I’ve been griping about the humidity here paired with highs in the 90s but wow – triple digits! Sounds like you should stay inside! I like the Aurora Teagarden mysteries – both the books and the movies. The books are a little darker. A movie marathon sounds like fun! Have a great week and enjoy all your fantastic books.

I need to read those books, Katherine! Especially if they are a little darker, which works for me. The Hallmark channel has several Women in Mysteries shows, and marathons precede the release of a new one. Today it’s Hailey Dean, played by Kellie Martin. I think my favorites are the ones with Alison Sweeney on the Murder She Baked shows (based on books by Joanne Fluke). I first became an Alison Sweeney fan when she played on Days of Our Lives as the character of Sami Brady.
Thanks for visiting, Katherine, and we don’t really have a humidity problem (dry heat!), but triple digits are still pretty miserable. Especially when they are higher than 110. That happened in 2006, and went on like that for 14 days! I remember it clearly because I had just bought my car and was ready to go somewhere. I headed for the coast.

Thanks, Jo-Ann, right now I wish I lived in Canada…for a lot of reasons (LOL), but the cooler breeze sounds wonderful.
The creepy doll book is good…and I have to smile, too, because the characters feel like the dolls are watching them, and my kids (and grandkids) had the same complaints about my guest rooms where they stayed (lined with dolls on a shelf). I no longer have that many dolls out. Most are “buried” in plastic bins.
I do love my house as long as the AC is working and I don’t have to leave. I have fantasies of moving to a cooler place (Canada, again!), but the idea of moving…and all that would involve. Those thoughts keep me right here.
Enjoy your week!

Oh my gosh, that’s too funny about your kids and grandkids feel like they’re being watched by the dolls! You have me dying to read the book though…holy. Sounds wicked.
The summers are great in Canada but don’t forget there’s winter too! Ha! Cold and snow. Stay put Laurel-Rain. Maybe a summer cottage in Canada is a better idea 😉

We were at 100° yesterday and totally suffering. It’s already 68° and it’s only 7:19 a.m. I’ve been taking a break binging on Gilmore Girls and listening to my audiobooks so I can crochet some charity washcloths. My girls start summer math class today, (insert evil laugh here). However, I have to refigure out my workouts because they’re either home or I have to do drop off and pick – class is only 1.5 hours.
