Today I’m participating in WWW Wednesdays, at Taking on a World of Words. Here’s how it works:
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next, and/or what are you eagerly awaiting?
CURRENTLY READING:
Rage, by Bob Woodward
Bob Woodward’s new book, Rage, is an unprecedented and intimate tour de force of new reporting on the Trump presidency facing a global pandemic, economic disaster and racial unrest.

BOOKS READ SINCE MY LAST POST ON 10/6/20:
Life in Pieces, by Dawn O’Porter

EAGERLY ANTICIPATING: This book will be released on August 3, 2021:
Find Me, by Alafair Burke
Synopsis: Some pasts won’t stay forgotten . . .
She calls herself Hope Miller, but she has no idea who she actually is. Fourteen years ago, she was found in a small New Jersey town thrown from an overturned vehicle, with no clue to her identity. Doctors assumed her amnesia was a temporary side effect of her injuries, but she never regained her memory. Hope eventually started a new life with a new name in a new town that welcomed her, yet always wondered what she may have left behind—or been running from. Now, fourteen years later, she’s leaving New Jersey to start over once again.
Manhattan defense lawyer Lindsay Kelly, Hope’s best friend and the one who found her after the accident, understands why Hope wants a new beginning. But she worries how her friend will fare in her new East Hampton home, far away from everything familiar. Lindsay’s worst fears are confirmed when she discovers Hope has vanished without a trace—the only lead a drop of blood found where she was last seen. Even more ominously, the blood matches a DNA sample with a connection to a notorious Kansas murderer.
With nowhere else to turn, Lindsay calls NYPD homicide detective Ellie Hatcher, the daughter of the cop who dedicated his life to hunting the Kansas killer. Ellie has always believed there was more to the story of her father’s death twenty years earlier—and she now fears that Hope’s recent disappearance could be related.
In pursuit of answers, three women search for the truth beneath long-buried secrets. And when their searches converge, what they find will upend everything they’ve ever known.

What was your week like? I am happy to have read three books this week, which is better than my previous weeks.

Rage sounds like an interesting read, breaking down Trump’s presidency. I wonder how impartial this is and look forward to your thoughts. Here’s my WWW post.

Thanks, Natalie, and Bob Woodward did a great job in the earlier book (Fear), not to mention his books about Watergate back in the 70s.

Thanks, Kate, I loved The Library of Lost and Found…and would you believe that it sat neglected on my Kindle for more than a year?

I’m glad the books you’ve read have provided a welcome distraction this week. I have a feeling if I was to read Rage that would be the emotion it would provoke!

I am pretty sure I will feel rage, too, as I read the book. I’m happy that I”m reading the Kindle version, so I won’t have to look at his face on the cover, lol. Thanks for stopping by, Cathy.

Two books before the middle of this month is better than my reading rhythm this year. It’s not three books in a week but I’ll take it. Hope you continue to enjoy good reading time.

Yes, I feel like my pace is improving, Joanne, but it only takes one tepid book to shift the balance…or a tepid mood! Enjoy your week.

Reading three books in a week is a great number. I can hardly read 4 or 5 in a month.

Thanks, Dr. Namrata…more often than not, I read one or two per week these days. But any reading is a good thing, right? Enjoy your week.

My library has Confessions on the 7:45! As a longtime commuter — that’s where I did most of my reading before work from home — I think it sounds delicious. Thanks for turning me on to it.

You brave soul, reading Rage right now! I’m too mentally tired right now to tackle it, but it’s one I’m definitely interested in eventually. Hope you enjoy it!

Thanks, Sammie, it is only possible to read it now because of the skillful writing of Bob Woodward, and his understanding of a presidency gone wrong.

Sorry for this delayed response. But, at least I got a chance to peek at your WWW before you post one tomorrow. Hah!
