Today I’m participating in WWW Wednesdays, at Taking on a World of Words. Here’s how it works:
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next, and/or what are you eagerly awaiting?
CURRENTLY READING:
You Should Have Known (The Undoing), by Jean Hanff Korelitz
Read the “rollickingly good literary thriller” and New York Times Bestseller — and watch the HBO Limited Series starting October 25 and starring Nicole Kidman and Hugh Grant.

BOOKS READ & REVIEWED SINCE LAST POST ON 10/20/20:
The Lost for Words Bookshop, by Stephanie Butland
Invisible Girl, by Lisa Jewell
***
EAGERLY ANTICIPATING:
Piece of My Heart, by Mary Higgins Clark & Alafair Burke, coming on November 17, 2020: the final book in the collaboration between MHC and Alafair Burke, which I have been following from the beginning.
In the latest thrilling collaboration from #1 New York Times bestselling author and “Queen of Suspense” Mary Higgins Clark and Alafair Burke, television producer Laurie Moran must solve the kidnapping of her fiancée’s nephew—just days before her wedding.
Television producer Laurie Moran and her fiancée, Alex Buckley, the former host of her investigative television show, are just days away from their mid-summer wedding, when things take a dark turn. Alex’s seven-year-old nephew, Johnny, vanishes from the beach. A search party begins and witnesses recall Johnny playing in the water and collecting shells behind the beach shack, but no one remembers seeing him after the morning. As the sun sets, Johnny’s skim board washes up to shore, and everyone realizes that he could be anywhere, even under water.
A ticking clock, a sinister stalker, and fresh romance combine in this exhilarating follow up to the bestselling You Don’t Own Me—another riveting page-turner from the “Queen of Suspense” Mary Higgins Clark and her dazzling partner-in-crime Alafair Burke.

Thanks, Molly, the book to movie aspect grabs me, too. I had started this book a few years ago, and just couldn’t get into it. But after watching the first episode of the miniseries, I knew I had to try again. And now the pages are flying! Imagine that, right?

I haven’t read a Lisa Jewel title in quite a while. I am glad ‘Invisible Girl’ was a 5 stars read for you. Enjoy your books this week.

Thanks, Diana, I am always worried that a hyped book might fall flat for me, so I was very happy to have the opposite be true. Enjoy this one!

The description of You Should Have Known as a literary thriller caught my eye so I hope you enjoy it and it lives up to the billing.

Thanks, Cathy, the first time I tried to read this one, I must not have been in the mood, as I set it aside after just a few pages. But now I am rapidly turning pages, and that doesn’t often happen in a book that is not a “thriller. The characters have pulled me in this time, but I do have to pay attention, as the intricacies of the plot and the characters’ actions can be subtle at times. I am definitely enjoying it, though.

Thanks, Sarah, I was happy to connect with the story and characters, especially since this book had been hiding out on my Kindle for a couple of years!
Stay safe and well! I am doing okay, and especially enjoying freshly ground coffee these days when I can hang out in my apartment.

You Should Have Known sounds very good and you can’t go wrong with Mary Higgins Clark for your anticipated read. I haven’t read one of her books in ages. Happy reading! 🎃

Thanks, Tessa, a few years ago, I read the first book in her Under Suspicion series, co-authored by Alafair Burke, for my First Book of the Year event that Sheila hosts every year. And in each subsequent year, I have featured the next one in the series. I hope to do that with this final book in the series.
And I am loving You Should Have Known this time around!
Enjoy your week!

I’ll be on the lookout for “Lost for Words …” I think I’ll crave fiction after I finish this biography, and you were so right when you turned me on to “Confessions on the 7:45.”

I love books about bookstores so appreciate the suggestion.
I was sorry about MHC’s recent death. I have a friend who is the priest at her parish in New Jersey and he really admired her as a philanthropist. It is nice to know she was doing good with her money (especially as it came from fans like us).

I also loved all of her older books.
