WEEKLY UPDATES: HELLO, APRIL!

PicMonkey Collage-RD LOGO

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

The week flew by, and despite the sunshine outside, I curled up on my sofa for most of it.  Still, my numbers this week were not impressive:  three books read and reviewed.  But they were books to savor, and all of them were older purchases.

I found a new Netflix series to watch:  The Ranch.  Eager to see what I will find to love about it.

Visited my daughter at her salon to update my look and enjoy a chat with her.

WEEKLY UPDATES: A DAY IN THE LIFE, ETC.

Happy Easter, for those who celebrate it.  I am pleased with the sunshine I see around me, although there is a hint of rain to come in the next week.  What a week this has been, struggling still with the new meds after three weeks…and finally, a discussion and a decision:  back to the old meds!  Such a relief.

One event this past week was so much fun for me:  A Day in the Life, (click for my post), hosted by Trish, at Love, Laughter, & a Touch of Insanity.  (Love that title!).

I also managed to read and review four books, and participate in Bloggiesta events. (Click to read about what I accomplished).  For my Read the Books You Buy Challenge, I have now read and reviewed 23 books!

I did not binge-watch quite as much on Netflix, but did enjoy watching some more episodes of Broadchurch.

Let’s take a look at the rest of the week…

My reading has been somewhat fluid this past week, and I want to stick to that nebulous plan; but maybe these titles will grab me this week, some I’ve brought forward from the “back” of Pippa, my Kindle.  Or I might impulsively grab a newer book, but let’s take a look at some possibilities:

WEEKLY UPDATES: A LITTLE SUNSHINE, A LITTLE RAIN….

A week of ups and downs with the weather…some rain, some shine; and I think I might be adjusting, more or less, to my new meds.

I read and reviewed four books this week, and I’m currently reading two books…yes, two at once!  I go back and forth, although now it is harder to tear myself away from whichever one I’m reading.

Today will be about reading and movie watching.  I did watch The Big Short  last night…and it was interesting.  I didn’t understand much of the dealing, as numbers are not my thing.  But it was fun to see the energy of the characters while they played out their plan…

Now…on to sharing more of my week…

WEEKLY UPDATES: A NEW VENUE

PicMonkey Collage-RD LOGO

Good morning! Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is hosted at the home site: Mailbox Monday.

And let’s join Kathryn, our new leader in It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?, at Book Date.

Notice something unusual?  Yes, I have moved our Sunday/Monday feature to a different venue for a while, to this, my Rainy Days and Mondays site…I do like to shake things up.

We’ve been having quite the rain storm tonight…the sound of it pounding on the roof was a bit frightening.  Loud, with thunder, etc.

So the days of sunshine are over for now.

My reading week was pretty good, with THREE books read and reviewed…and I’m halfway finished with a fourth one.  And…I have now read and reviewed 20 books for my Read the Books You Buy Challenge.

No martinis this week…I had a doctor’s appointment on Wednesday, and started on a new medication that has a few annoying side effects…so I’m staying close to home for a bit.

I finished Season 4 of House of Cards at the end of last weekend….now I’m curious about what new shows I should watch.

Grab some coffee, and let’s chat….

The week started off really well….first, I read one great book, the pages flying by, followed by another one I also loved.  Then…well, the week took a turn on Friday.

My TV developed a glitch, with skipping and freezing while I tried to watch my shows…and then, a new inhaler (I’m pretty sure that’s what did it!) led to swelling underneath one of my eyes.

So today I’m waiting for the Cable Guy…and pressing ice on my face!  Yikes!

This past week found me setting books aside and picking up different books.  Nothing seemed to really grab me…and then I found a couple of books that hooked me completely!  I love when I finally land on just the right books to see me through the days and nights.

I also did a bit of Netflix bingeing…started a new series, one I’ve never watched:  The West Wing.

Now let’s talk about our weeks.  Here I am with my coffee and trusty laptop Louisa May!

My week was spent mostly reading ONE book, although I then went on to finish another.  The book I spent so much time on was more than 500 pages and awesome, but I was distracted by other things.  Like prepping for carpet cleaning next week.  Who knew prepping could be so time-consuming?  Here is the preliminary Graveyard of my Stuff in the garage (below)….there will be more.

I also caught up on some TV shows returning from hiatus:  The Leftovers, The Affair, and How to Get Away with Murder.  (Did anyone read Tom Perrotta’s book The Leftovers?)  I loved it!
