Today I want to begin by sharing some changes in my bookshelves. I did some more purging, and here is what those results look like.
In the bedroom, here are two Before Shots:
This shelf stood between the TV on the left and another shelf on its right….In the aftermath, I removed this bookshelf and rearranged the books, adding some of them to my donations box in the garage.
Here are the three shelves, before:

After some purging and rearranging…it feels strange without the wall lined with bookshelves.
Here’s another view of the remaining shelves….
And for a final tweak, here’s a finishing touch:
Across the bedroom is another shelf, where some of the decorations from the old shelf ended up…along with some of the books.

On to my “bookish granddaughters,” who are enjoying the final weeks of their senior year: Aubrey and Friends, “faux” smoking, I think…LOL
Fiona and Tomas, off to the Senior Prom:

As a final bookish note, I am reading and loving this book, The Sound of Glass, by Karen White:

What are you spotlighting today? I hope you’ll leave your link, along with your comments….

Doesn’t it feel good to purge a bit and start again with a clean slate? I have been trying to do that too and just past on a set of Lauraine Snelling – Red Rive of the North series to my sister in law from Montana. It felt really good to share with here and know I am cleaning out at the same time. Not so sure her husband felt the same way, I think he was thinking,”oh no, more books” LOL.

Ha-ha…Yes, passing on our treasures can lead to more collecting for those recipients….but it does feel good. Thanks, Judy, and my books have made it as far as the garage…from there, who knows?

Laurel, It’s always fun to take stock of what’s on shelves and move them around. Can’t believe your granddaughters are seniors! Here’s Mine

I loved clearing out the shelves again…now my bedroom only has FOUR bookshelves in it instead of five. LOL
As for those granddaughters, I can’t believe they are seniors either…and eighteen! It seems like they were babies just the other day.
Thanks for stopping by, Paulita.

You did a great job! Love the before, but love the after too. Great photos of the kids!
I need to purge almost everything I own. I want to move to town and won’t have as big a house as I do now.

Thanks, Vicki, and after I snapped these photos, I did even more tweaking with the wall hangings, etc.
Downsizing is a challenge that I went through eight years ago…and then proceeded to add lots of books, etc.

I completely agree, Ginny, and while I have gone a bit overboard, purging a lot in the last few months, I guess it needed it! Thanks for stopping by.
