Welcome to another Wednesday event, hosted by Sam, at Taking on a World of Words.
I was going to get a really early start this morning, but woke up to no Internet, no TV, and no landline! Used my cell phone to call the service rep and get everything up and running. It only took a half hour, but I feel wiped!
I haven’t done this meme in a while, and then, I think I did it only once or twice. So here goes:
The Three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?
***
Currently Reading:
Monday’s Lie, by Jamie Mason, is an intriguing thriller about spy games, secrets, lies, and betrayal. I stayed up really late last night, as I couldn’t put it down. I’m eager to get back to it again!
***
Recently Finished:
I finished Crash & Burn, by Lisa Gardner, another thriller. (Click title and/or cover for my review).
My review begins like this:
From the very first page of Crash & Burn (Tessa Leoni series), we are drawn into the mind of a woman, tortured by the confused thoughts in her head, as well as bits and pieces of memories. After she catapults over a ravine in her SUV, she manages to climb out of it. She keeps calling out for someone named Vero, as she crawls up the ravine from the crashed car.
Investigators believe she is referring to a missing child and spend hours searching.

Reading Next:
The Rocks, by Peter Nichol, will probably be my next read. If I seem hesitant, it’s because I have read mixed reviews of this one…so I am a little nervous.
Set against dramatic Mediterranean Sea views and lush olive groves, The Rocks opens with a confrontation and a secret: What was the mysterious, catastrophic event that drove two honeymooners apart so suddenly and absolutely in 1948 that they never spoke again despite living on the same island for sixty more years? And how did their history shape the Romeo and Juliet–like romance of their (unrelated) children decades later? Centered around a popular seaside resort club and its community, The Rocks is a double love story that begins with a mystery, then moves backward in time, era by era, to unravel what really happened decades earlier.

So now I’m off to see what everyone else is reading! I hope you’ll stop by….

Sounds like you’ve been lucky enough to find some real page-turners recently. If a book can keep me up past 1am, that’s always a good sign! 🙂
Thanks for visiting my WWW post and happy reading!

I consider that a good sign, too, Claire…but then I am sleep-deprived the next day! LOL But fortunately, my freelance lifestyle allows for naps. Thanks for stopping by!

I’m always hesitant to start a book that had mixed reviews. I have to suck it up and be brave. Happy reading and thanks for participating in WWW Wednesday!

I read Crash and Burn and heard of the others but haven’t read them yet. I believe Jamie Mason had a hit title out last year too on my wishlist. I should check this one out. Glad you had a good reading week and now have power back on!

Ooh I am intrigued by The Rocks, shame it has received mixed reviews, I’ll be interested to see what your thoughts are on this one as the premise is fascinating.
