MORE ENGAGING BOOKS…

Today I’m participating in WWW Wednesdays, at Taking on a World of Words Here’s how it works:

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next, and/or what are you eagerly awaiting?

CURRENTLY READING:

Just Between Us, by Rebecca Drake

A book I downloaded in January 2018, and which I am thoroughly enjoying right now.

Just Between Us winds its roller-coaster plot around our tendency to see exactly what we are looking for—while our little lies take on dangerous lives of their own.” — O, The Oprah Magazine

BOOKS FINISHED SINCE MY LAST POST OF 7/28/20:

Friends & Strangers, by J. Courtney Sullivan

Until I Find You, by Rea Frey (NetGalley-8/11/20)

EAGERLY ANTICIPATING:

Little Disasters, by Sarah Vaughan – a book I have pre-ordered that will be released on August 18.

Synopsis:  From the bestselling author of Anatomy of a Scandal—a new thought-provoking novel exploring the complexity of motherhood and all that connects and disconnects us.

You think you know her…but look a little closer.

She is a stay-at-home mother-of-three with boundless reserves of patience, energy, and love. After being friends for a decade, this is how Liz sees Jess.

Then one moment changes everything.

Dark thoughts and carefully guarded secrets surface—and Liz is left questioning everything she thought she knew about her friend, and about herself. The truth can’t come soon enough.

My week has been slower than usual, but I am enjoying the books.  I have finished my NetGalley ARCs until September, so that’s good, right?  Except we all know how quickly the weeks will fly by, and I’ll be playing catch-up again.

What was your week like?

  1. Sorry to hear it has been a slower week for you, but that you’re enjoying reading is the most important thing, and well done on finishing all your ARCs for September – This is one goal I gave up trying to achieve a very long time ago! 😅 Happy reading for the coming week! 😃

    1. I like the feeling of being caught up, and that began to happen when I stopped requesting books. Books would be offered, and I would accept them or not, depending on my calendar. I like that feeling!

Of course I then miss out on some great books, I’m sure.

      Enjoy your reading, Jessica.

    1. Yes, being caught up seems to be a side effect of passing some books by and keeping my eye on the calendar when accepting books.

Now I am looking forward to the two remaining ARCs on my stack!

Enjoy your week, Cathy, and try not to miss all the good books.

    1. That is the problem with NetGalley, for me: the need to accept books I want, and then feeling rushed and stressed. So I changed things this past year: I kept track of my calendar…and being sick, moving, etc., all changed my priorities.

Thanks for visiting, Teri, and enjoy your books.

    1. I can’t believe I have waited so long to read this one, Elizabeth! Over two years. But I am certainly loving it, and maybe that’s the perfect timing for this book: during a Pandemic.

Enjoy your week. And yes, empty swings on a cover always draw me in.

My week has been weird – not a ton of energy or patience to do anything so keeping to myself so I don’t rub off my weird mood on anyone else LOL. Friends and Strangers is on my TBR so hope you enjoyed!

    1. Thanks, Katherine, and the books didn’t drag this week, I was just slow because I kept getting distracted! Now they are testing all the residents here because some staff members got Covid-19. I sure hope I and the other residents are negative.

Enjoy your books and taking care of your little guy. Stay safe, too.
