WEEKLY UPDATES: A CHALLENGING WEEK

PicMonkey Collage-october weekly updates image

Good morning!  Today’s post will link up to Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post,  and Book Journey, for  Weekly Updates.

**Mailbox Monday is now hosted at the home site:  Mailbox Monday.

It has been a challenging week for me, as I fought off an illness that kept me mostly sidelined on the couch or in bed.  So my blogging was skimpy…but I did manage to read and review four books.

I usually mention enjoying coffee or a mimosa as we contemplate our weeks…but I think I’ll settle for tea today…LOL.

  1. I’m sorry you haven’t been feeling well. Get better soon!

GH has been great. I can’t wait to find out more about the Luke stuff. Also the baby Avery stuff (can’t call her AJ, that’s just not right – LOL). I’m betting Avery isn’t really Sonny’s baby.

    Have a great week!

    1. Thanks, Yvonne, and I am loving GH, too. I know Ava is supposedly evil, but I hope she doesn’t die. Maybe I just enjoy Maura West…LOL. And yes, that A.J. name on that baby doesn’t work for me, either, and I can’t stand Morgan and Kiki. I loved the old Kiki, though. Sometimes recasts change everything for me.

And wouldn’t that be a kick if Sonny wasn’t the father?

    1. I think I saw Eight Cousins on your blog and realized how much I would love to reread it…LOL. And yes, tea is comforting. But I returned to my regular old tea, as the herbal teas make me think of being sick.

Thanks for stopping by, Katherine, and enjoy your week.

    1. Thanks, Terri, and welcome to my blog! And I do collect a few Disney themed figurines….although I have stopped adding to the collections….LOL.

I am feeling better, and I hope you have a great week.

  2. I’m impressed that you still managed to read and blog even though you weren’t feeling well. Hope you are better now!

Inside the O’Briens looks so good, but am not sure I’m up for a read as devastating as Still Alice. Will be curious to hear what you think.

    1. Thanks, JoAnn….I blogged on Monday…and then returned when I got my “sea legs” back…LOL. Reading was easier than blogging. As for Inside the O’Briens, I am actually kind of dreading it, as it will be another depressing story. So I’ll wait as long as possible, until I’m in the right mood. Enjoy Florida!

    1. Thanks, Kimba, and I’m better now, but I still have to be careful not to eat anything too spicy or challenging…LOL.

I enjoyed another book by Jenny Milchman, so I’m looking forward to As Night Falls.

  3. Kind of random, but I think we have the same kindle cover!
It seems like you got a lot of interesting downloads for books too and I hope you enjoy reading all of them. I hope you’re feeling all better now too, have a great week! 😀

  4. Four books? I’m lucky if I get one book a week read. You got me beat. 🙂 Congratulations. Glad to hear (from the other comments) that you’re beginning to feel better. My wife has a terrible cold right now, but so far, I haven’t caught it.

    1. Thanks, Bryan, and what I had was probably food poisoning, but still very debilitating. I hope you stay healthy…and I’m glad you could stop by. As for how many books I read, reading and blogging (and movies, etc.) pretty much consume my time these days.

    1. Thanks, Terri, and I have zero self-control as well, but I am only allowing myself to request NetGalley books that I would have bought….nothing that even hints of an unknown author or title. That will save me a little, I think.

  5. Sorry to hear you’ve been unwell and hope you’re well and truly on the mend. Some great reads there as usual. Will be keen to hear what you think of Inside the O’Briens!

  6. Sorry you’ve been ill- it seems like everyone is getting sick with the arrival of spring. Glad you had books to keep you company. You have some good looking books to read this week! Enjoy 🙂

    1. I sometimes wonder why I continue reading her books, Brandie, as all the topics are grim. But she manages to inspire me with the characters, and how they rise above their various medical nightmares. Thanks for stopping by.

  7. I love the idea of Netgalley and keep wondering whether I should sign up and request some books and make more use of my e-reader 🙂 I like the sound of The Third Wife as I’ve read and enjoyed Lisa Jewell in the past.

    Have a great week!
