Wow, am I glad to see a normal Monday…finally. Okay, holidays are great, but I crave routines. Yes, I’m weird like that.

THIS WEEK’S RANDOM QUESTION: What do you do when you finish a book? Do you immediately start another one?
***
I’ll start with the random question….I finish a book, review that book, and start the next one. Unless it’s the middle of the night, and then I’ll wait until morning.
I just finished The Black Widow late last night and immediately posted my review. (Click the title).
It was one of those books with alternating narrators, which ratcheted up the suspense as we got closer to the end. To say that I couldn’t put it down…is an understatement.

Meanwhile, I blogged about a topic yesterday that I’ve been noticing around the blogosphere…could I say it has gone “viral”? One Word is a theme that is repeating everywhere. Here is my post: My Interior World: Finding My Balance.

What are you musing about today?

I usually sleep on a book, then write my review in the morning. Sometimes I need a little time (a week or two) before starting another. It’s nice to start getting back into a ‘normal’ routine. I hope you enjoy the rest of Monday!

Sounds good, Pat…I am always afraid I’ll forget important details…LOL.

Nothing interesting; just the usual what am I cooking for dinner tonight?

Oh, I remember hating that one….nowadays, I can have whatever I want, no preparation required. LOL.

Schedules and routines are important. Over the holidays I got away from going into the office each weekday. Sure made going back today harder. I was less productive working from home too.

I do agree about the importance of schedules and routines, even if we are working from home. Thanks for stopping by, Cheryl.

a normal Monday ah yes it is nice to be back into some kind of routine – I’m not normally a routine person but I lose track of time without something – happy New Year:)

Oh, so do I, Alberta…if I don’t have a routine, I forget what day or month it is! LOL

I read a book then write the book pretty much straight away. Then I may most likely not post it, but its there waiting for a space. I don’t pick up the next book immediately, but I put it there ready to read. Be it in an hour or the next day!

Sounds like a good plan, Kathryn. I do sometimes save the review without posting it if the release date is too far in the future. But once I have the review written on a Word doc, I can move on to the next book.

I usually write it immediately but wait for a week or so to post it. Sometimes I write the review whilst I read (usually with a book I don’t enjoy though…)

I’ve done that, too. I’ll start writing the review when I’m halfway finished with the book, to get the bare bones on my Word doc. Thanks for stopping by, Geraldine.

I’m the exact same way! I write my review and post it ASAP, unless it’s the middle of the night. I can’t start a new book until I review the last one. It just feels wrong 🙂

That’s how I am, too, Cheryl…It doesn’t feel like a finished book until it’s reviewed.
If it has a release date out there a ways, I may write it, but wait to post it.

I’m terrible at writing my review right after I finish a book, haha. I usually start another book as soon as I’m done, unless the book was super awesome and I need to get over my book hangover before starting.

I wish I could languish in my book hangover, but I am afraid to lose my momentum by pausing….LOL. Thanks for stopping by, Cyn.
