WEEKLY UPDATES: IT’S AUGUST ALREADY!

Good morning!  Today’s post will link up to The Sunday Salon, The Sunday Post and Stacking the Shelves, for weekly updates.

**Mailbox Monday is now hosted at the home site:  Mailbox Monday.

And, in anticipation of Sheila’s return, check out What Are You Reading at Book Journey.

This week has offered more opportunities to read and blog, as the Berliners get ready to head up north for a while.  They will be back later in the month or early September.

This morning, I am enjoying a cup of coffee in my “temporary work area,” otherwise known as the dining area.

  1. She’s a beauty and reminds me of the styles in the ’40s there 🙂 from photos I saw of people, not myself lol.
I’ve read a couple of your titles: At Risk a long time ago, wasn’t this Hoffman’s first book?, and The Mistake I Made. I definitely want to read the Jane Porter, Elin Hilderbrand, and Diane Chamberlain, and I have Dune Road but haven’t opened it yet. Good week ahead for you, so enjoy, and keep enjoying your close contact with the Berliners. My son arrived today in FL to visit my oldest child and her family, then he heads home next week– we can’t wait!

    1. Thanks, I agree about Gabi’s photo…my son also took some black and white shots of her playing the piano, and she has the style of that era in those photos, too.

I suspect At Risk was Hoffman’s first book, or one of them; I know that I missed it along the way.

We had a nice day today, eating out at an Asian Fusion restaurant in the neighborhood…and then I took them to my daughter’s, where they will hang out today and tomorrow. I’ll join them tomorrow for brunch.

      Thanks for stopping by, Rita.

Lots of good ones! I was disappointed to not get approved for the new Chamberlain book. It’s been years since I read one of her books, and I wanted to try her again. I hope you enjoy it!!

  3. A few books there I like the look of. I think I’ve said before I’m keen to read Chamberlain as I’ve heard such positive things.

And yes… how can it be August already?!

    1. I love Chamberlain’s books. My first read of hers was The Midwife’s Confession, and I was hooked. Hope you love whatever you pick up..

That’s a cute photo of your DIL. I saw the Diffenbaugh on one of my audio services but I didn’t go for it. I did enjoy her first book though.

    1. Thanks, Teddyree…the camera loves her, which is great, since she is a photographer’s wife (my son, of course). I am so looking forward to the Diffenbaugh book…and the Chamberlain. Enjoy your week.

  7. I also have a copy of the Wings book, I haven’t heard anything about it, so I am hoping it will be a good read. What a fantastic shot of your DIL… very vogue and historical. Have a lovely week.

  8. Great photo of Gabi — like an actress there or a spy! I also looked closely at the novel A Window Opens. That one looks fun, so I’ll be interested to see what you think of it. I might need to get it. Enjoy your week and thanks for stopping by my site.

    1. Thanks, Elizabeth…and I was so excited to get the Wizard of Oz pieces…first the resin ones, and then the plush ones came from Amazon! The collection makes me think of “journeys,” so they came to symbolize my own writing and reading journey.

      I can’t believe it’s August either. Enjoy!
